Architectural hardware imported into Ghana is subject to 15% VAT plus the 2.5% NHIL and 2.5% GETFund levies on the CIF value, with customs duty of 0%, 5%, 10%, 20% or 35% depending on the HS code, administered by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) via the ICUMS platform. A 1% processing fee plus the 0.5% ECOWAS and 0.2% African Union levies also apply. Goods must also meet the standards administered by the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA). Which Ghanaian port should our shipment come through?

Tema Port is the main gateway for Accra, Tema and the eastern half of the country, and Takoradi Port serves the Western Region including Takoradi and the Sekondi corridor. Kumasi is served inland from either, most commonly Tema. For samples and small urgent consignments we air-freight to Kotoka International Airport in Accra. We coordinate directly with your clearing agent or freight forwarder at whichever gateway you use.
